Super Smash Bros. Melee was released for the Nintendo Gamecube in December of 2001. It's the sequel to the hit party/fighting game Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64. SSBM improves on the original with 26 playable characters and very smooth and quick fighting mechanics. The game has a thriving and dedicated competitive scene in addition to great single player content.
