Home > Nintendo Switch will Release March 3 for $299.99
During the Nintendo Switch Presentation on January 12, we were finally given a release date and MSRP for Nintendo's upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch. The console will launch worldwide on March 3, 2017 for a suggested retail price of $299.99. The MSRP is up to retailers in Europe and will run 29,980 yen in the Japanese market. This price is in the ball park of what we were expecting, although many were hoping for a $249.99 price point to better compete with Sony and Microsoft.
The presentation also gave us details about what's inside the Switch box when you finally get your hands on one. Inside is the Switch console (tablet), two Joy-Con controllers (right and left), the Switch dock, a Joy-Con grip, an AC adapter, an HDMI cable, and two Joy-Con straps. Two different bundles will be available, one with blue and red Joy-Cons and one with grey Joy-Cons. What's missing is a lack of any sort of bundled game (1-2-Switch seems like a great option), which makes the price point seem even more steep. Nonetheless, a lot of great software was announced and we're excited to continue bringing you the latest Switch news and coverage through March 3 and beyond.
