Animal Crossing New Horizons Ordinances
As part of the Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 patch, ordinances are available for managing the lives of the citizens of your island for a fee of 20,000 of your hard-earned bells. Each of these special rules adds something unique or modifies an existing system, usually to make things easier for players, especially those with different schedules to work around. Below is an Animal Crossing Ordinances Guide that will show you how and where to enact ordinances in Animal Crossing!
Enacting Ordinances in New Horizons
Ordinances in New Horizons are enacted by speaking to Isabelle in the Resident Services Building once it is unlocked. Afterward, 4 options are available. Notably, only the representative/primary player can enact ordinances.
Early Bird Ordinance in New Horizons
The Early Bird Ordinance in Animal Crossing allows players to change the schedules of villagers and shops. Nook's Cranny and Able Sisters will both open an hour earlier, and villager sleep schedules are adjusted to wake up bright and early.
Night Owl Ordinance in New Horizons
Enacting the Night Owl Ordinance, similarly to the Early Bird Ordinance, adjusts the closing hours of Nook's Cranny and Able Sisters to an hour later. Also, all villagers will wake up later.
Beautiful Town Ordinance in New Horizons
The Beautiful Town Ordinance Effects pertain to the presentation of the island. Villagers will be more likely to water flowers and pick weeds, which in practice means fewer weeds spawn. Cockroaches will no longer appear, hybrid flowers have an increased spawn rate, and trash will no longer be fished out of the water.
Bell Boom Ordinance in New Horizons
The Bell Boom Ordinance in Animal Crossingincreases the amount of money gained from selling items while also increasing the price, both by a 1.2x modifier. House debts, collection of donations for buildings, and other large bell collections remain unchanged. Also, Re-Tail in the plaza has a larger amount of premium items.
Limitations of Ordinances in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Only one ordinance can be active at a time, and changing the ordinance takes a full day to process, refreshing at 5 AM. Ordinances can be rescinded or canceled for free, although setting one to active again takes another 20,000 bells.
