This guide is designed to give you strategy and tips for beating every boss in Super Mario 3D World.
Super Mario 3D World Bosses
World 1-Castle Bowser
Stay close to Bowser and wait for him to throw soccer-bombs at you. Kick them back at him to deal damage.
The soccer-bombs turn red after a bit of rolling. If you kick them back in this state, they deal damage to you.
Bowser is defeated after taking damage nine times. Each set of three hits will result in more obstacles entering the battle.
World 2-Castle Boom Boom
Jump on Boom Boom's head while he is spinning to deal damage.
Avoid Boom Boom while he is in his shell. It is impossible to deal him damage in this form. After every hit, he becomes more transparent.
Boom Boom is defeated after taking damage three times.
World 3-Castle Pom Pom
Jump on Pom Pom's head while she's throwing her stars to deal damage.
The real Pom Pom is the one with the pink star. She gains more clones as the fight progresses.
Pom Pom is defeated after taking damage three times.
World 3-B Hisstocrat
Jump on Hisstocrat's head using the surrounding snakes to deal damage.
Some snakes hold a Super Bell. You can use the Super Bell to climb surrounding snakes rather than jumping on the lower ones. Make sure to avoid the falling boulders.
Hisstocrat is defeated after taking damage three times. You are awarded with a Green Star for defeating him.
World 4-Castle Boss Brolder
Hit Boss Brolder with a Brolder to deal damage.
Boss Brolder will spin around and shoot flaming rocks at you. Dodge this and the primary Boss Brolder to avoid taking damage.
Boss Brolder continues to spawn Brolders until he is defeated. He eventually falls after taking damage three times.
World 5-Castle King Ka-Thunk
Jump on King Ka-Thunk while he is facing down to deal damage.
King Ka-Thunk will pivot in different directions on his spiky frame. You can tell where he will land by watching the shadows.
King Ka-Thunk is defeated after taking damage three times.
World 6-Tank Boom Boom
Jump on Boom Boom's head while he is spinning to deal damage.
Avoid Boom Boom while he is in his shell. It is impossible to deal damage in this form. As the fight progresses, he will throw shells at you, leaving him vulnerable to attack.
Boom Boom is defeated after taking damage three times.
World 6-C Motley Bossblob
Jump on Motley Bossblob's head while he is in his small form to deal damage.
Avoid Motley Bossblob while he is in his large form. It's impossible to deal damage to him in this form. After this phase ends, he is vulnerable to damage.
Motley Bossblob is defeated after taking damage three times.
World Castle-Castle Bowser
Bowser will roll soccer bombs at you. Stay close to the car, so that you can kick them back to deal damage.
Avoid the enhanced obstacles Bowser brings to this battle, including spikes on the ground and fireballs that Bowser himself shoots.
Bowser is defeated after taking damage nine times.
World Bowser-Castle Meowser
Scale the large tower, being careful to avoid touching Meowser on the way. He will slide down the building and destroy clouds from under your feet.
Once you've made it about 1/3 of the way up the tower, watch for a POW block. Hit it to stall Meowser and continue climbing.
After the first phase, Meowser will use the Double Cherry to replicate himself. Watch out for his claws and pay careful attention to the terrain underneath you. Make sure to keep moving, or one of the Meowser clones will smash out of the wall next to you.
Once you have ascended the tower, hit the POW Block under Meowser four times to defeat him once and for all!
